The indictment of Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich on corruption charges has dominated the news the past two weeks. Blagojevich is charged with attempting to sell the Senate seat of president-elect Barack Obama. At a news conference on December 9, Patrick Fitzgerald, United States attorney general for the Northern District of Illinois, announced the arrest of the governor and detailed the charges.
